Week of 10/24/2016

Hi All,

Here is what we have planned this week:

Kindergarten: The kindergarten students will continue continue working on their watercolor paintings.

1st Grade: These students will continue learning about color and value.  Each student will continue creating a color wheel and a value scale.

2nd Grade: The 2nd graders will continue creating drawings that use warm colors and cool colors.

3rd Grade: The 3rd graders will finish creating complimentary color drawings.

4th Grade: Students in 4th grade will continue working on their self-portrait drawings.  To see the worksheets we are using in class, click HERE and HERE.

5th Grade: The 5th graders will continue working on their one-point perspective drawings.  To see the instructions for the drawing, click HERE and then HERE.

6th Grade: The 6th graders will begin a lesson on perspective.  I will begin by reviewing how to use a t-square and a triangle.  Each student will then use these tools to make a drawing that uses at least 3 horizontal lines, at least 3 vertical lines, and at least 3 diagonal lines.

NOTE: Students who are unable to finish their work in school will be allowed to work on them before school or after school.  I will be available before school Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:15 – 8:45.  I will be available after school from 3:45 – 4:15.  I ask that students give one day’s notice if they are coming in before school or after school.  I also ask that students get written parental permission (an email or a handwritten note).  All drawings are due next Wednesday afternoon at 4:15 PM

7th Grade: The students will continue learning about Conceptual Art. This week, students will write their own sets of instructions that could be used by someone else to create a drawing.

NOTE: Students who are unable to finish their work in school will be allowed to take them home to complete them.  This assignment is due Friday @ 9:00 AM.

8th GradeThese students will continue learning about Cubism.  This week, each student will continue planning his / her Cubist still life painting in pencil.

NOTE: Students who are unable to finish their work in school will be allowed to work on them before school or after school.  I will be available before school Friday and Monday from 8:15 – 8:45.  I will be available after school from 3:45 – 4:15.  I ask that students give one day’s notice if they are coming in before school or after school.  I also ask that students get written parental permission (an email or a handwritten note).  All drawings are due next Wednesday at 4:15 PM
