Hi All,

Here’s is what we are working on for the first week of the 2nd Marking Period:

Kindergarten: Students in these classes will learn about landscapes.  We will look at landscapes created by Paul Cezanne, Hokusai, and Ansel Adams.  We will also talk about the different parts of a landscape (horizon line, sky, ground).  Each student will then create his / her own landscape.  This week, each student will begin planning his / her drawing in pencil.

1st Grade: Students in Room 105 will continue learning about color and value.  Each student will continue to use oil pastels to make a drawing.  Each student must mix his / her oil pastels to make at least 3 new colors or values.

PLEASE NOTE: because of the schedule this week, students in Room 107 will not have art class.

2nd Grade: The 2nd graders in Room 103 will continue learning about the artist Keith Haring.  Each student will continue creating a Keith haring-inspired drawing.

PLEASE NOTE: because of the schedule this week, students in Room 106 will not have art class.

3rd Grade: The 3rd graders in Room 205 will continue learning about nonobjective art (art that does not try to represent a person, a place, or a thing).  This week, each student will continue planning his / her drawing in pencil.

PLEASE NOTE: because of the schedule this week, students in Room 201 will not have art class.

4th Grade: Students in Room 207 will finish working on their self-portrait drawings.  To see the worksheets we are using in class, click HERE and HERE.

PLEASE NOTE: because of the schedule this week, students in Room 203 will not have art class.

5th Grade: The 5th graders in Room 210 will continue learning about one-point perspective.  They will watch a short video that shows how to use one-point perspective to draw a city.

PLEASE NOTE: because of the schedule this week, students in Room 219 will not have art class.

6th Grade: The 6th graders in Room 218 will continue learning about two-point perspective.  I will show the students how to draw objects in two-point perspective.  Each student will continue to create a drawing that shows at least 3 different objects in two-point perspective.

7th Grade: Students in Room 119 will continue working on their acrylic paintings.
